There are three keywords for my research: video, performance, and affordance.
My primary focus is about people’s performance/self-presentation in everyday life through online visual data such as videos or short-form videos. I use a theatrical or performative perspective to do video analysis and affordance analysis, to argue about the theatrical or performative relationship between people and technology.
Method wise, I use multimodal analysis for video analysis.
If we look at the literature, methods and tools for video analysis are lacking. Video tends to be more malleable among other visual data. That is when multimodal analysis comes handy.
