There are three keywords for my research: performativity, affordance, and multimodality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My primary focus is about people\u2019s performance\/self-presentation i<\/em>n everyday life through online visual data<\/em> such as videos or short-form videos.<\/em> I use a performative<\/em> perspective to do video analysis and affordance analysis<\/em>, to argue about the theatrical or performative relationship between people and technology. I use multimodal analysis and grounded theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Generally, I’m interested in anything vernacular on screen: danmu, emoji, images, and video. I talk about digital literacy and media literacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I am always open for collaborations on communication and media, human computer interaction, and performance studies.
